    Abstract

Islam attaches great importance and value to mental health. If he considers a believer to be a person with a healthy heart and is mentally healthy, he considers the source of many moral vices to be some kind of mental problems. On the other hand, envy can be mentioned as one of the vices that plays an important role in the deviation of man and society from the path of perfection and excellence. Also, according to the definition of envy in the sayings of religious elders, the principle of envy and jealousy goes back to the soul and psyche of a person, and in addition to affecting the body and aggravating its diseases, it also endangers the mental health of a person. Therefore, considering the importance of the subject, the purpose of the present research, which was carried out in a descriptive-library method; Investigating the effects of jealousy on mental health and its treatment methods from the perspective of verses and traditions. According to the causes, roots and grounds of jealousy, in many cases, the cause of people's jealousy was known to be lack of self-confidence, feeling of inferiority, lack of knowledge and weak faith. In such cases, a jealous person envies others to relieve the suffering caused by his weaknesses and wishes that others do not have what he does not have. According to the knowledge of these factors, the most important results obtained indicate that people should know their abilities and positive characteristics to cure jealousy and strengthen them to achieve the blessings they are considering and provide the means of progress for themselves and the society. The main treatment is to strengthen faith and correct attitude. Man does not achieve a correct understanding of himself and his abilities unless he knows God and elevates his relationship with himself. It is in this way that one can take steps on the way to true perfection with a healthy spirit and a strong and strong body.

    Introduction:

One of the issues in life and social relations is the phenomenon of "jealousy" which causes many problems and due to its importance is of particular concern in Islam. has taken Jealousy is one of the moral issues that have psychological dimensions. Therefore, there is no doubt that a rational approach to jealousy of oneself and others depends on the psychological analysis of this phenomenon. Jealousy is one of the topics that has been paid attention to from both the point of view of ethics and psychology, but it can be pointed out that perhaps scholars of religion and ethics have paid less attention to the psychological aspects of this topic, and psychologists have paid less attention to its religious texts. The main goal in organizing this research is to examine the effects of envy on mental health and the ways of treatment from the perspective of the Quran and hadiths, therefore, it has been tried to address this issue both from the perspective of religion and from the perspective of psychology.

There are many verses and traditions condemning envy, but it can be said that every corruption and injustice that happened in the world was the source of that envy, the devil envied Adam and was driven away from the door of God. The son of Adam envied his brother and killed him. The disbelievers envied the prophets, they were tormented. The three caliphs were jealous of Imam Ali (AS) and did all this injustice. Banu Umayyad and Banu Abbas were envious of the Tahirin imams and in return they brought murder, oppression and thousands of other corruptions, concrete examples of which can be seen in the Qur'an. The effect of envy on mental health has also been considered in the words of Masoomin (a.s.). Hazrat Ali (a.s.) says in this context: Envy is a disease that does not give peace to its sufferer. Jealousy is the worst disease because the physical diseases that are physical diseases, if it causes pain and suffering in this world, it is the source of reward in the hereafter, and other spiritual diseases, if they cause loss and damage in the hereafter, they may have pleasure in this world, and if they do not have pleasure, they are not so painful, unlike envy, which despite the loss and damage in the hereafter, has no pleasure in this world and is always in sorrow. Jealousy has adverse effects on physical and mental health and makes a person sick, and it is less of an inappropriate trait that has all these bad consequences. With these words, we understand the importance of the issue.  A person whose soul is involved with this disease must heal himself, because this moral vice, if it develops, not only harms the person himself, but may also hinder the progress of a family, a small community, and even a large society. In this research, in order to clarify the dimensions of the subject under discussion and the orientation towards the realization of its goals, five chapters have been carried out in the following order. In the second chapter, it has been tried to analyze and investigate the grounds of jealousy growth and its roots from the perspective of religion, ethics and upbringing, so that knowing these factors in the next stages will be an effective step for prevention and treatment and providing health and mental health. In the third chapter, the effects and consequences of jealousy are investigated. Maybe as long as jealousy is in the heart of a person, there is no sin associated with it, but when it involves verbal and sometimes practical actions, it will definitely bring losses and damages to the jealous person and little by little endangers his mental and psychological health, which include personal, social and afterlife effects. In the fourth chapter, which is the most important chapter of this dissertation, an attempt has been made to analyze the verses and narrations and to know the causes, contexts, and individual and social effects of jealousy in mental health, to prevent and treat mental health, as well as the treatment of this religious and psychological disease, and to examine the results obtained. The medicine of the world should be used to treat a person's coma, and the medicine of the sick person should be treated with the medicine of God, and the inevitable of lusts and pleasures is the inevitable of the patient. (Gharral al-Hakm H4863/ 240- chapter on purifying the soul/ pg. 239). Everyone deserves to be cured of the diseases of the world, as the sick are cured, and to avoid the lusts and pleasures of the world, as a sick person avoids. One of these diseases is (jealousy). It means that we want to take a blessing out of someone's hand, which in itself is a kind of great oppression, no one likes the oppressor and oppressor and we all want to be loved and loved in the eyes of God and people, so isn't this effort of a jealous person a fruitless effort that makes himself hated by both God and God's servant. In the meantime, the biggest harm is done to the envious person, he is constantly confused with himself and grieves that why I don't have a certain blessing that a certain person has, the anxiety and worry of not having that blessing not only depresses and saddens his soul, but also affects his body and aggravates his physical diseases. Now we want to examine the impact of this mental illness on mental health and remember its disadvantages and examine its impact on mental health. If a person can recognize this disease in himself and save his soul from conflict with it, this is very important. We must also see how much we can prevent its personal and social losses, because envy does not harm the envious person, and in the meantime it also causes losses to the envious person. Let us also take care of our mental health so that a great mental illness such as envy, which is called the mother of diseases, does not involve our body and prevent us and others from progressing and reaching perfection, prosperity and happiness in our religion and world. Manan Ali peace be upon him: The worst person in terms of peace in life is envy, and the spiritual losses of envy are far greater than the material and physical losses, because envy in the depths of its heart is against the giver of blessings, that is, God. Considering all these issues, the most important goal in this research is to ensure the mental health of the envious person and to prevent and treat this mental illness, both from a scientific and practical point of view, because the efficiency of a person, in his personal life and in society, implies his physical health and his physical health It does not provide anything except health and peace of mind.
