    Persian abstract

Background and purpose: Breast cancer is the most common invasive cancer in women and includes 16% of all women's cancers. Breast cancer is the most common cause of cancer-related death in women. Therefore, in this study, the serum levels of Vit D, ESR, and CRP of patients with malignant breast mass and benign breast mass were compared with those of healthy individuals who referred to Khatam Al-Anbia Shahroud Hospital and Tehran Breast Specialist Center in 1992-1993. Study method: This is an observational study in the form of a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study among 120 people from Patients with malignant breast mass and benign breast mass and healthy people who referred to Khatam Al-Anbia Hospital and Tehran Breast Center in 1992-1993 were conducted and serum Vit D, ESR, and CRP levels were compared in the three mentioned groups.

Findings: In this study, it was observed that vitamin D deficiency was significant in cancer patients (average 12.36) more than the two groups of healthy people (average 33.7) and people with benign mass (mean 23.45) (P=0.027). The mean ESR in the group with malignancy was 15.37, in the group with benign mass was 13.8 and in the group with healthy people it was 10.3, which showed a statistically significant difference (P=0.037). The average CRP in the group with malignancy was 3.43, in the group with benign mass was 2.23, and in the group of healthy people it was 1.47, which showed a statistically significant difference (P=0.044).

Conclusion: Based on the results of this study and their comparison with other similar studies in this field, it is concluded that the level of ESR and CRP in malignant breast masses is higher and the level of vitamin D is lower.

    Introduction:

All over the world, the most common invasive cancer in women is breast cancer, which includes about 22.9% of invasive cancers in women, and 16% of all women's cancers are breast cancer. In a survey conducted in 2008, breast cancer caused more than 450,000 deaths worldwide, which includes 13.7% of all cancer deaths in women and 6% of cancer deaths in both sexes (1-5). Of course, the rate of breast cancer has decreased in the last decade, which is attributed to the decrease in HRT use. Breast cancer is clearly related to aging; So that only 5% of patients are under 40 years of age, and according to the statistics obtained in 2011 in England, 80% of patients were over 50 years of age. The incidence and mortality rate of breast cancer in Asian and African and developing societies is lower than in Western and European societies, which is apparently due to the difference in the way of nutrition and reproduction pattern in the society (6-9). Considering the importance of the subject, in this study, the serum levels of Vit D, ESR, and CRP of patients with malignant breast mass and benign breast mass were compared with those of healthy individuals who referred to Khatam Al Anbia Shahroud Hospital and Tehran Breast Specialist Center in 1992-93.ESR: Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate CRP C Reactive Protein Vit D Vitamin D Overall:
