    Summary

Objective: About 1/3 of the budget of each hospital is spent on purchasing drugs and related equipment. Considering the high amount of Rials spent in the pharmacy sector, the need for a process design and detailed planning is necessary to achieve the goals of the system in order to provide appropriate and profitable clinical services. ABC analysis is one of the appropriate tools to identify, monitor and manage the inventory of pharmaceutical items. Materials and methods: The list of inventory items, their unit price and their annual consumption rate is prepared. For each item, the unit price is multiplied by the annual consumption to determine the value of the product. Then according to the value of the product, we sort it in descending order and obtain its cumulative value. We call the items that include 70% of the cost in category A, the items that include 20% of the cost, category B, and the items that include 10% of the cost, we call category C.

Findings: In the current study at Bo Ali Sina Medical Education Center, out of 425 items of drugs prescribed in 2013 13 items of drugs with 69.6% of the budget of the whole year were placed in category A. 40 items of drugs with 20.3 percent of the budget are in category B.  Category C of drugs including 372 items of all drugs have allocated 11.4 percent of the budget. Of the 425 prescribed drugs, only 1.3% of the drug items account for 69.6% of the total budget, which are in category A. 20.3 percent of the budget was spent on buying 9.4 percent of pharmaceutical items (including 40 category B drugs). 87.5% of the prescribed medicinal items in 2011 accounted for only 11.4% of the total budget.

Discussion and conclusion: In specialized and sub-specialized hospitals where the number of pharmacopoeia medicinal items is large, a high percentage of costs are related to a small number of drugs. Some items are placed in group A because of the high cost and some because of the high number of prescriptions. Inventory management and drug ordering are of great importance. In these centers, it is possible to turn requests into general purchases by managing inventory in the case of drugs with high consumption, and through auctions or even in the form of cash or sexual discounts.

Supplying medicine is the eighth part of Primary Health Care and one of the government's commitments. Providing pharmaceutical services to patients, including outpatients and inpatients, has a special place [1].

Drugs, because they are an important and sensitive commodity for the treatment of patients and improving their natural processes, must be managed. The drug circulation process has an important place in advancing the goal of healthy people for sustainable development. The reform of pharmaceutical policies in developing countries is one of the most important areas of reform in the health and treatment sector [2]. In developing countries, most of the imported drugs are expensive. be that the reason for the increase in the amount of special currency for the import of medicines and the increase in costs, also the resources available in the health centers are often not used properly and in most cases there is a lack of resources at the same time I hate wasting resources.

Considering the financial challenges in the hospital, reducing the cost and increasing the income in this organization is very important and considering that after The costs of personnel rights, the pharmacy department constitutes the largest percentage of the medical budget with only 30% of the total budget of the hospital, the issue of managing the drug circulation process in the hospital is one of the sensitive and important issues. [3].

Inventories constitute a major part of the finished price of the manufactured goods or a major part of the working capital, so in order to reduce the investment on the assets, the following recommendations

1-Determining the minimum and maximum levels of inventory The Inventory Control Levels..

2- Determining the amount of each order The Quantity to be Ordered.

3- Correcting the warehouse conditions Stock Conditions

4- Determining regulations for making fast and effective decisions صفارشامتRapid and Effective

about 1/3 of the budget of each hospital is spent on purchasing drugs and related equipment [4]. Considering the high amount of Rials spent in the pharmacy sector, the need for a process design and detailed planning is necessary to achieve the goals of the system in order to provide appropriate and profitable clinical services [5]. In a study conducted in a 1500-bed government hospital in India, it was shown that inventory management and purchase of expensive pharmaceutical items can save up to 20% of financial resources [6]. ABC analysis is one of the appropriate tools for identifying, monitoring and managing the inventory of medicinal items [7]. Classification of pharmaceutical items by ABC analysis method will ensure the availability of vital drugs, reduce costs related to processing and ordering drugs and transportation, as well as providing the possibility of dealing with changes in demand and the crisis caused by drug shortages in a medical center [8]. In the investigations conducted by the colleagues of a research center in India on the hospital centers of Delhi city, useful results have been obtained, in such a way that it was possible to deal with the control and management of pharmaceutical items in category A in addition to saving money in crisis situations. In these studies, it is suggested that ABC analysis be implemented as an approved control program in medical centers [12-9].
