    Abstract

The aim of the present research is the structural analysis of sports management theses of universities in Mazandaran province. The research method is descriptive-analytical and the data collection was done in a library manner. The statistical population of the present study was all theses in the field of sports management in all public and non-governmental universities of Mazandaran province, and a total of 266 theses were examined. A research sample was determined equal to the research community and as a whole number. The data collection tool was the adjusted checklist of Kohbami et al. (2015). The face validity of the checklist was confirmed by 10 professors and experts in sports management. Considering that the data of this research is of the nominal scale type, the reliability of the checklist was examined by the method of agreement between evaluators and after achieving the same results, it was confirmed. Descriptive statistics were used for data reporting and SPSS version 22 and Excel version 2013 were used for data analysis. The results showed that the highest number of theses was related to North Non-Profit University and the lowest was related to Mazandaran University and the number of theses written by men was slightly more than that of women. Most of the topics were in the field of strategic management in sports and most of the research was done in the geographical area of ??other provinces of the country. Professors with experience were more frequent in directing theses. The statistical population of employees and managers of sports departments was the most frequent. Most of theses were practical and survey type and most of the data were quantitative and collected using field method and questionnaire. SPSS software was the most used for data analysis and the most used sampling method was simple random sampling. Farsi sources were slightly more used than English sources, and most of theses referred to limitations and practical-research suggestions. Dissertations had obvious differences in terms of their apparent structure in some indicators. By forming joint inter-university committees and formulating unification strategies and holding joint workshops for professors of universities in the province, the appearance structure of theses can be improved. rtl;">

    Introduction

The scientific, industrial and cultural development of any country will not be successful without addressing the issue of research, and in fact, research is considered as the driving engine of progress and development. Even if there are signs of development without addressing research foundations, that development will not be continuous and stable and cannot follow a safe path. Therefore, research is the basis of development and is a guarantee for the continuation of development. Also, applying the results of the researches conducted in each field leads to the improvement of the usual solutions and methods in the desired fields. Of course, an important part of these research activities is carried out by higher education institutions and universities, which are leaders in the field of studies and researches in the country (Nixirt and Badri, 2013).

Conducting research is one of the signs of the advancement of countries and one of the most important factors of development, because it will increase productivity in the economic sectors of the country. If we consider research to be of little importance today and do not pay for it, we will have to bear a higher cost in the future. The basis of power and life in today's world comes back to the benefit of science and knowledge. In today's society, rich and poor are primarily formed based on the degree of benefit from knowledge, and the result is the degree of wealth and power.

In today's world, there is no other way than thinking about scientific development, otherwise we have to accept that we will become poorer or more backward day by day, so scientific development is both a necessary and a desirable thing (Bastami, 2014).

Research is the most important indicator of societies to reach a knowledge-oriented society and a way to create technology, development, progress and increase power.

Research is the most important indicator of societies to reach a knowledge-oriented society and a way to bring about technology, development, progress and increase production capacity and honoring the status of researchers, identifying and proposing their problems to improve the level of research are among the requirements. Research is the driving force of all-round and sustainable development in the dimensions of culture, economy, politics and society. Despite the high status of research, this field is facing many structural and functional difficulties (Amiri, 2013).

One ??of the ways to cultivate good researchers is to encourage students to write research theses (Kalahi et al., 2014). Because thesis writing is the most important part of graduate students' academic life (Browse[1], 2000).

Thesis writing is a completely new activity for most graduate students. The thesis creates new needs and is a much bigger research than what the students have done up to that time. Dissertation, unlike other stages of education, requires independent study and more effort. There is less continuous evaluation in it and it is probably the longest writing that students have done up to that time (Murray [2], 2011). In fact, the thesis is an image that represents the format accepted by the university in presenting the results of a research (Dastjerdi et al., 2013).

The thesis is actually teaching knowledge, skills and research methodology for students, so it is necessary to prepare a suitable and uniform framework for the presentation of this educational and research unit. On the other hand, each thesis is considered a model for other students who refer to it as a reference in the conventional structure of the university, so it is felt that there are theses with quality and content suitable for guidance in this regard (Kalahdozan et al., 2013). rtl;">

    1-2) statement of the problem

Kurt Levin [3] (1993), believed that research and research eradicate social problems from the roots. According to him, if it is necessary to make some kind of progress towards solving social problems, research should be done, because research programs have a determining feature.

Compared with undergraduate courses and before that, which is a period of transfer and education, postgraduate courses are a period of reproduction and production of science. In the form of a thesis, each student carries out a research project that can potentially be used to solve the scientific and technical problems of society (Nick Siret and Badri, 2012). Writing a thesis is an opportunity to learn in a real environment. Therefore, each thesis can be assumed to reflect a part of the intellectual and academic culture of a society. At the same time, the thesis shows the learning abilities, technical skills and improving the writing and analysis power of each student. theses in sports management across universities in Mazandaran province. The research method was descriptive-analytic in nature and data collection was conducted in library context. The population under study was all sports management M.A. degree theses in all state and private universities in the Mazandaran province and on the whole 266 theses were studied. The study sample was determined as the entire research population. The data collection instrument was a modified version of the checklist used by Kuhbami et. al. (1385). The operational validity of the checklist was ensured through the confirmation of 10 people familiar to sports management field consisting of professors and experts.
