    Abstract

    The general purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and the quality of life of the students of Tehran Islamic Azad University, North Branch was For this purpose, based on the Morgan table, a statistical sample of 192 students was selected by a simple random method.

    The statistical population of the present study was made up of all students studying at the Islamic Azad University of North Tehran branch in the academic year 2012-2013.

    In the present study, the Schering Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire [1] and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire - short form were used. In order to analyze the collected data, firstly, at the descriptive level, using statistical indicators, the demographic characteristics of the sample were described and summarized, then at the inferential level, to find the relationship between the research variables, Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression coefficient test were used.     Introduction

    People's view of life has changed a lot and they make a lot of efforts to improve different aspects of the quality of life [1] (Nainian et al., 2014). Due to the diversity and variability of the concept of quality of life from the point of view of the individual and different social groups, there is no general agreement on its definition and model. For example, based on the definition of the quality of life group of the World Health Organization [2], the quality of life includes aspects of physical, mental and social health, and even the relationship with the environment (Niva and Taylor [3], 1999). Quality of life is closely related to the concept of good life because some of the main indicators of good life (health and mental health) are similar to quality of life and good life has no meaning without physical and mental health (Ramzani Nejad, 2016). For this reason, several indicators of quality of life have been assigned to job characteristics, job relationships, job satisfaction, and leisure behavior (WHO, 1995). Today, the quality of life has been the focus of welfare and social organizations, researchers of social sciences, health, psychology, medicine and physical education (Niva and Taylor, 1999).

    According to Bar-an, emotional intelligence is a set of abilities, capabilities and skills that equips a person to effectively adapt to the environment and achieve success in life, and emotional intelligence is the basic element in this type of intelligence that distinguishes it from cognitive intelligence. it does (Torabi, 2012). Therefore, emotional intelligence is an important factor that coaches and athletes must simultaneously acquire the necessary skills and abilities to succeed in the desired sports field, and train this skill as well.

    Nowadays, due to the increase in life expectancy and life expectancy, a more important issue has been raised as how to spend life and in other words quality of life[4], which has attracted the attention of experts and researchers in sports and physical education. (Ahmadi et al., 2013). Quality of life is a comprehensive concept that includes physical health, personal growth, psychological states, degree of independence, social relations and connection with the environment and is based on the individual's perception of these dimensions.In fact, quality of life includes objective and subjective dimensions that interact with each other (Eidi

    Statement of the problem

    Social and emotional abilities and competences are among the factors that determine and influence the quality of social relationships and success in various areas of life and career (Meir and Karaso, 2001). Emotion control in people, especially athletes. and sports coaches is very important, and in the meantime, emotional intelligence helps a lot in the success of coaches and athletes in sports fields. Knowing emotional intelligence helps sports coaches in choosing players and assigning different responsibilities and understanding their behavior and how to deal with them (Douglas, Wiegand, 2007). (health and mental health) is similar to the quality of life and a good life has no meaning without physical and mental health (Ramazani Nejad, 2016). For this reason, several indicators of quality of life have been assigned to job characteristics, job relationships, job satisfaction, and leisure behavior (WHO, 1995). Today, the quality of life has been the focus of welfare and social organizations, researchers of social sciences, health, psychology, medicine and physical education (Niva and Taylor, 1999).

    Researches conducted in the field of comparing emotional intelligence with intelligence have shown that the abilities of emotional intelligence, which include emotional perception, emotional regulation, emotional recognition and emotional facilitation, are better predictors of success and adaptation. (Basharat, 1348). Emotional intelligence includes our ability to develop sufficient skills in creating healthy relationships with others and a sense of responsibility in front of tasks (Golman, 1998). By improving this skill, a person's mastery over things increases, the feeling of mastery over the situation creates in the athlete the belief that his efforts will affect success and that he can change the course of events and determine the outcome of the competition (Kejbafnejad, 2010). Therefore, understanding emotions is very important to achieve successful goals (Bradbury et al., quoted by Ganj, 2014) and team spirit and productive sports environment (Lin et al., 2009). One of the important topics of psychology that has been seriously discussed in recent years is emotional intelligence [1]. Emotional intelligence includes abilities such as maintaining one's motivation and perseverance in the face of problems, keeping one's composure and controlling one's impulses in critical situations, delaying success, empathizing with others and hoping (Sasani 2019). Emotional intelligence alone has been introduced as the biggest factor for predicting a person's performance and the most effective driver for leadership and success. Self-confidence[2], relaxation[3], empowerment[4] and concentration[5], which are components of emotional intelligence, have a meaningful relationship or the leadership styles and personality of a leader in guiding and controlling his team and employees, and this relationship can have a positive and high correlation. The overall goal of this study is to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and quality of life among students of Islamic Azad University, North Tehran branch. For this purpose, Islamic Azad University, North Tehran. To this end, based on Morgan's table, a statistical sample of 192 students was selected by simple random method. The sample consisted of 192 students, according to Morgan was chosen randomly.

    The Statistical Community of the current research was formed by all students studying at the Islamic Azad University, Tehran North Branch in the academic year 92-93. This study included all students who were studying in Islamic Azad University, North Tehran Branch was formed in the 93-92 school year.

    In this study, Schering's emotional intelligence questionnaire [1] and World Health Organization's quality of life questionnaire - short form were used.
