    (Introduction)

    1.1. Introduction

Today, sport is one of the most essential needs and fundamental institutions of human societies. So that it is rare to find a country that does not have sports organizations. In today's era, sports as an economic part, both practical and spectacular, play an essential role in the production and consumption of goods, sports services and the economic development of different societies, and it is now considered one of the most effective factors in national economic growth and the most profitable industries in the 21st century (Namati, 2011). Among the social phenomena, sports has the most audience due to its special attractions. The approach of the general public in the form of sports lovers, fans and financial supporters, day by day increases the social, cultural and economic values ??of this phenomenon (Old, 1390). Spectators are people who welcome all sports events, from school level events to intercollegiate events (Ghafouri, 2019). Spectators are one of the key components in the success of sports organizations, and the presence of more spectators attracts more financial sponsors. Organizations that face a small population of fans cannot attract the required financial sponsors and will benefit from less television broadcasting rights (Noll [1], 1991). Therefore, spectators as one of the most important human forces in sports should be taken into consideration and written and organized programs to attract and retain them by sports clubs and organizations should be implemented (Azhdari, 2018).Studies have shown that sport has an effect on the motivation of people and has increased communication, social pride, and social unity among groups, and spectators also go to watch competitions as the main elements of sports competitions with different behavioral and social characteristics for fun, entertainment, excitement, satisfaction, happiness and to fill their free time. Studies and sports psychologists have stated that spectators, especially domestic spectators, have an important effect on the general performance of sports, both in training fields and in real competition. . Larson believes that spectators are an integral part of the very nature of sports, as they provide a live and direct social environment for the athlete. Al-Gadi also emphasizes that the athlete cannot perform well in the competition without the audience, and it is mentioned that today the presence of the audience and their influence has been revealed to everyone, because it is the audience that is considered the main capital of sports. Especially in home games, spectators and fans of different sports teams help the authority and expansion of that sport by spending money on their favorite sport and team (Ghadimi, 1390).

According to the mentioned content, among the sports fields, according to the division of sports into group and individual sports, people's interest in watching these sports will also be different. Certainly, the foundation of some disciplines is different from each other, especially in team sports, including basketball, where team performance and team efficiency are very important, and the main emphasis of psychologists is to pay attention to internal characteristics and different variables in line with team efficiency. In this research, an attempt is made to examine the effects of the presence of spectators on the team performance of the Iranian Men's Premier Basketball League.

    2.1. Statement of research subject

Psychology and sports management, in order to prepare teams to participate in sports competitions and achieve success, provides valuable information and services to managers, coaches and athletes, and studies in this field have grown significantly in recent years (Sepasi et al., 2016). Among the social phenomena, sports is one of the most popular because of its special attractions. The approach of the general public in the form of sports lovers, supporters and financial supporters increases the social, cultural and economic values ??of this phenomenon day by day (Falahi, 2018). And as an economic sector, it plays a fundamental role in the production and consumption of sports goods and services and the economic development of different societies (Allahvardi, 2010), to the extent that sports in most countries are considered as a trade and industry, and statesmen in advanced countries consider sports as an important trade and industry along with other industries (Elahi, 2013).

The success of sports teams and their team efficiency is influenced by factors It is different like the audience, especially the audience inside the house. In fact, home spectators lead to the excitement of the players, their optimal performance and teamwork. (Yoder [2], 2011) Spectators, as the main pillars of sports competitions with different behavioral and social characteristics, go to watch competitions for fun, entertainment, excitement, satisfaction, happiness and to fill free time. (Commercial and Turkfar, 2018). Sports spectators and sports viewers have a special place among people in the contemporary world, and according to the size of the population that goes to stadiums and sports centers every week to watch sports matches and competitions, or follow sports activities through mass media, the press, the Internet, radio, television, testing and sports activities, it is considered as a large and wide social phenomenon, and this motivation and interest of people to watch and be a fan of sports has various consequences, the effectiveness of sports teams is one of its effects. The obligations and desires of the spectators will predict the behavior of the players. (Kim[3], 2013)

The average results of the games show that teams usually have more success than losses from the total number of matches played in the home field, and the number of losses is higher than the total number of games played outside the country, which of course is objective for teams of the same level.
