    Abstract:

The Shahnameh of Ferdowsi was written in a context of social customs, along with the special beliefs of the Iranian people, some of these beliefs and rituals are general and all social classes adhere to them equally. The existence of classes, in addition to the obligation to observe the comprehensive culture of the society, they are required to observe certain customs and rituals in the area of ??their class and social duty.

Undoubtedly, the wrestlers are at the center of the events of the Shahnameh.

This thesis, which has collected its information in a documentary and library manner, and in an analytical and descriptive manner and by using the technique of analysis The content has presented its findings, it was written in order to explain the corners of the life of one of the heroes of the Shahnameh named Tos, one of the most important results of the present research is to examine the face of a hero from different aspects and show that the heroes of the Shahnameh often adhere to their beliefs and rituals and being in the war scenes never led them to brutality, lack of adherence to ethics, trickery and deception, which sometimes lead to incidents in their lives. It was their unintentional and expedient mistakes and they were often peaceful, noble, brave and adhering to human principles. Of course, Ferdowsi, with his humane and impartial view, has shown the prominent heroes of the enemy as they were, great and prominent. and wisdom

    Foreword

Realizing the truth of how people lived in the distant past and what beliefs they had. It has always been one of the interests and concerns of the human mind, as much as humans seek to predict the future, they also seek to discover the facts of the past. I was always looking for an opportunity to get information about the life and past of Iranians and enter their mysterious world. As we know, the works left from ancient Iran are very insignificant and we do not have many sources of Iranians before Islam, and non-Iranian historians also admit that Iranians ruled over a large part of the world for many years and had a great and advanced civilization. Now these questions arise in this thesis. How is Iranian identity described in the Shahnameh and what are the components of Iranian cultural identity? And how and to what extent these characteristics existed in heroes like Tous and how this identity is tied to the epic. Ferdowsi's Shahnameh is a unique work. This valuable work is related to the life of Iranians and is perhaps the only comprehensive work that introduces us to the ancient Iranian world to a large extent. Because it is an epic work, and epics are the closest works to the life and beliefs of the ancients.

    Shahnameh and Iranian identity

"Shahnameh, without any exaggeration or presumption, without any doubt, is the unique letter of Iranian culture, it is a raging sea and a vanishing border that The hills of the millennia, in it, Daman and Roman, great and mighty, glorious as a mountain, roll into each other; The ladders that rise from the depths, from the darkness of history, rise up, sweep across the expanses and time; To connect our pasts to the present and our present to the future, the Shahnameh is a bridge, strong and strong, fulfilling the chasms of time and an unbreakable thread that connects the past with the past. It is because of this that we can consider this famous letter as Shiraz and the foundation of Iran's culture and history. The truth is, if it were not for the Shahnameh, we could not be what we are, and like other clans and lineages, we would be lost in the shadows of the vast expanse of history and the rolling gates of discrete names and broken names. (Karazi, 1379: p.. (Karazi, 1379: p. 4)

In the most sensitive moments of the history of the land of Iran, when there was a fear of a devastating identity crisis, Ferdowsi tried to depict the components of the historical cultural personality of Iranians, which we interpret as "cultural identity", and provide them to Iranians, so that future generations will always have an authentic reference for recognizing personality traits. That is why the answer to many questions about who and what is the cultural personality of Iranians can be seen in it, and every reader establishes a relationship with it in a special way, and also almost all researchers have considered it as a document of Iran and Iranian identity. He writes about this great work:

"It is difficult to accurately estimate the effect of the Shahnameh on the preservation and survival of Iran's identity from language and literature to the spirit of Iranian identity and national pride, but there is no doubt that this great and unique work was one of the major factors and most important elements in both fields. One can imagine that Dari Farsi had reached such a level of maturity and eloquence that Ferdowsi could create such a work with that language and it can be accepted that the Shahnameh itself was one of the manifestations of the strong and rooted national identity of this great land. But one can also doubt in accepting this fact that the unique format and the wonderful content of this great epic, which was the birth of such a language and such an identity, after its publication and influence in the cultural veins of Iran, was the first guardian of the language, culture and identity of Iran and Iranians, and still as the most expressive and living element of the long-standing identity of this land, it has perhaps had the most profound and fundamental effects in the cultural preservation of the peoples living in this vast area. (Mortazavi, 1379, 66-65)

"Shahnameh, both in terms of ancient national traditions and in terms of its strong influence in guarding the Dari Persian language, is the greatest asset of our national culture, and it is not for nothing that it is called the Holy Quran." The thoughts, advice and wisdom of the ancestors, their ways and customs, and the defense of their land and water, and their sacrifices in protecting Iran's borders from enemies and invaders, are all included in this amazing work, which is worthy of a miraculous eloquence, and the combination of these qualities has brought it to a level that the researchers of the world have ranked among the greatest national epics of the world. (Safa, 1374, p. 122)

1- "We owe many things to Ferdowsi. Most importantly, he has left the feeling of being Iranian in our hearts. If there was no Shahnameh and the language, history and culture of Iran would not be continued in this way, a single country and nation with the current characteristics and culture would not exist. (Riahi, 1375, p. 33)

"It is not an exaggeration to say that if there was no Farudsi (and Shahnameh), the connection between you and me, with our past and ourselves, would not have been so strong if it existed. (Hamidian, 1372, p. 85)

"Shahnameh is a work that, in terms of understanding the inner and deep culture of ancient Iran, probably went beyond the Pahlavi religious books that were written at the same time, and was able to understand a part of the true spirit of Iranian culture, both in the field of opinion and in the field of practice. "(Sabet Far, 1377: p. 153)

"It should not be forgotten that the Shahnameh not only helped to strengthen and perpetuate Iranian identity, but also worked hard to revive the history of Iranian myths. So it can be said that Persian literature is the essential element of Iranian identity and the Shahnameh is at its center. (Mazolev, 1380, p. 30)

Therefore, we base our work on the Shahnameh. A large part of this precious book is a description of Persian warriors, and since Mesht is an example of Kharvar, in this research, we intend to examine the Shahnameh's warrior section and examine your personality traits from various aspects.

    Expression The problem

Every research actually starts to answer a problem. The research problem in this thesis is to get to know the face and character of Tus in different fields, and since this face is one of the warrior classes of the Shahnameh, you will also get to know some of the characteristics of the Shahnameh warriors.
