  • Summary of Investigating the performance of the transformation of Shanderman into a city in the development of surrounding villages

    Master's Thesis

With the establishment and formation of fixed settlements in the form of ten villages, these settlements needed a place to exchange their products with each other. This place was named because of its nature (service-commercial) and related to the surrounding areas of the city. For this commercial center, the existence of an agricultural field and surrounding agriculture was considered one of the basic necessities of formation and permanence.

The village is a human settlement in an area that, with its structural and functional dependencies and connections with the city as another settlement, creates economic and social relations. In the studies conducted on the relations between the city and the countryside, the city has always been considered as a decisive element from a theoretical and functional point of view.  For years, the relations and links between the city and the countryside were summarized in a simple form in a more economic form, that is, the exchange of the surplus of the village's products. However, the developments of recent decades in the world and in Iran have not only dimmed this trend, but have also turned into multi-dimensional, complex and interdependent processes in such a way that today it is no longer possible to examine and understand the study space of any one without taking into account the other's position, because the intervention in rural and urban areas has effects beyond their territory (Shirinpour 2012, 2). Development is one of the effective and interesting methods in the opinion of scholars for rural areas.  Because small towns are known as the link between two dependent rural and urban worlds and have mutual relations and links, but located in mutual and different conditions and conditions, they are the best and most suitable option to help reduce multi-layered gaps and the consequences of restrictions and exclusion for both residential places. The needs of the villagers, the recognition of the effectiveness of the economic functions of the city in accessing employment and income generation in the villagers and the investigation of the role of the city of Shanderman in the access of the villagers to the basic needs have been prepared in five chapters. The existence of problems caused by the growth of large cities, population density, and also the migration of villagers to these cities caused the attention and emphasis of planners on the strengthening and growth of small towns. In this sense, this strategy is always proposed that by strengthening small towns, the path of migration of villagers to larger cities can be changed and many problems in rural areas caused by the lack of proper access of villagers to service centers can be solved. Development plans are aimed at achieving mutual benefits. In recent years, the urban and rural areas of the country have been significantly affected by the new global phenomena, and new functions have been created for cities and villages. Rural-urban links can have a significant impact on the rural development of the region, even though the city is mentioned as the engine of rural development. These works can leave a positive or negative role, in other words, a reproductive or parasitic role on their area or region, and they differ from one region to another and from one city to another. Therefore, the scientific knowledge of these effects can be effective in regional planning. Today, with extensive economic-social and technological changes, including in the field of transportation and communication, the relationship between the city and the countryside has become very wide and diverse. These relations show themselves in the form of the flow of the population, goods, ideas, capital, information and innovation. For this reason, many developments and changes in cities and villages are caused by the lack of good relations between them. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to urban-rural relations in the planning process. Permanent migration from villages to cities is happening, which on the one hand causes a lot of pressure on cities and marginalization, and on the other hand, causes the decline of agricultural activities. In such a case, due to not using modern agricultural technologies, it is not economical for the villagers, and eventually it causes the internal activities of the village to disappear.Spatial flows and sectoral interactions between the city and the countryside in the form of rural-urban links play a very important role in the balance of the city and the village and the integrated regional development. The economic and social development of the villages are among the factors that can strengthen the aforementioned links in order to reduce poverty and the gap between the village and the city. Youth employment in the villages, the residence of native people in the villages and increasing the role of the village in the macro development of the country are among the goals of the rural development plan. In such conditions, villages-cities and small towns can create spatial-population balance in regional dimensions, and on the other hand, by establishing various administrative, economic-social and welfare services in small towns and villages-cities, more than 50% of the unnecessary and expensive trips of the villagers of the region to the center of the city can be prevented and provide them with satisfaction. Also, small towns can play a very important role as rural growth centers in the development process of villages and services in the field of creation The market provides agricultural inputs, such as fertilizers and agricultural machinery, urban services, training facilities, education, medical care and the like for the rural area, and ultimately it will reduce the commuting of rural residents to Masal and reduce transportation costs and increase the profit and income of the villagers in the study area.

The benefits of surrounding villagers from their infrastructure and economic-social services.

2- Also examine the role of small towns in increasing agricultural and non-agricultural employment in the study area.
