    Abstract

The present research has investigated "the influence of personality characteristics of managers on their entrepreneurial characteristics in insurance companies".  The statistical population of this research is the managers of Alborz Insurance Company. The sample size estimated by Cochran's formula, the error of 5% is equal to 168 people. In terms of the method of data collection, this research is a non-experimental type of research and is clearly "survey" and the researcher has used a questionnaire to collect data related to the research questions. The five-factor NEO questionnaire (NEO-FFI) was used to examine personality traits. This questionnaire includes five domains of extroversion, assimilation, emotional stability, openness to experience, and duty orientation, and each of these domains was measured with specific questions. Also, in order to measure entrepreneurial personality traits, the model of Iranian entrepreneurs was used, and in this model, the eight areas measured are: locus of control, dreaming, creativity, balanced risk-taking, success-seeking, challenge-seeking, ambiguity tolerance and pragmatism. The results of the hypothesis test showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the personality characteristics of managers and the entrepreneurial characteristics of managers. Also, the results of the sub-hypotheses test showed that the four personality traits of extraversion, emotional stability, openness to experience, and duty orientation of managers have an effect on the eight dimensions of entrepreneurial characteristics of managers, and only the personality characteristic of assimilation of managers has no effect on the eight dimensions of entrepreneurial characteristics of managers.

Key words: personality traits, entrepreneurial characteristics, extraversion, integration, emotional stability, openness to experience, duty orientation.

    Statement of the problem

Development of the country has been one of the main goals of achieving the 20-year vision of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Rezaei and Dehkordi, 2015, p. 15). The existential philosophy of the insurance industry all over the world is the customers, or rather, the policyholders. In our country, the insurance industry is a factor that directly responds to the needs of society in regulating social interactions, providing professional security for businesses and economic activities (Sahamian Moghadam, 2016, p. 3). It is also mentioned as a symbol of effort and success in business affairs. Entrepreneurs are the pioneers of business success in society. Their ability to take advantage of opportunities, their strength in innovation and their capacity for success are the criteria by which new entrepreneurship is measured. Entrepreneurs have an important contribution to economic growth in terms of leadership, management, innovation, efficiency, job creation, competition, productivity and formation of new companies. According to some beliefs, it is necessary for an entrepreneurial revolution to occur in societies. This revolution in the present century is far more important than the importance of the industrial revolution (Kuratko & et al, 1989).

In many advanced countries as well as some developing countries, special attention has been paid to the issue of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs in the last few decades. The reason for this attention is the important, positive and constructive role of entrepreneurs in economic and social development, the exploitation of this energy and potential power in order to deal with issues and challenges such as inflation, recession and especially unemployment (Ahmadpour, 2013, p. 4).

In the first place, entrepreneurship requires entrepreneurial managers. Identifying such managers requires a lot of research so that they can be used in appropriate positions. One of the ways to identify them is to study personality traits that affect entrepreneurship. In this regard, the present research studies the effect of the personality characteristics of managers on their entrepreneurial characteristics in Alborz insurance. 2-1- Necessity and importance of research: Entrepreneurship is a very important category that many developed and developing countries have paid serious attention to. In the meantime, one of the main branches of entrepreneurship is entrepreneurship in the organization, which undoubtedly has a significant contribution to the success and excellence of organizations (Ahmedpour, 2013, pp. 132-135). Changes in products and market mechanisms often mean that organizations take advantage of opportunities that other organizations do not follow and sometimes they are not even aware of their existence. In this context, innovation plays a leading and major role. (Collins & Ram, 2003, pp. 5-7)

Insurance plays an essential role in compensating financial effects.7-5)

Insurance plays a fundamental role in compensating for the financial effects caused by the realization of the insured risk for members of society. The services provided by insurance increase the efficiency of merchants, companies and commercial institutions (Sasannejad, 1379, p. 8), it provides the necessary infrastructure to promote competitive advantage and attract foreign capital in the country, and it directly regulates the social relations of members of society, making people aware of each other's rights and responsibilities and Ensuring the professional security of businesses and activities in your business and services is influential. In fact, drastic changes in the field of international economy have turned support industries into one of the most important competitive advantages of countries (Oviatt and McDougall, (540-542). The society's lack of confidence and sufficient understanding of the insurance category on the one hand, and the inefficiency of this industry in meeting the real needs of customers on the other hand, has caused a clear gap between customers and insurance institutions.

The importance of the present research is that by identifying and examining the relationship Between personality traits and entrepreneurial traits in Alborz, we can promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and make the most of the talents, abilities and ideas of entrepreneurial people and use them optimally to increase the capabilities, efficiency and effectiveness of the society middle to upper ranks and also the hiring of managers according to such personality traits, which is pursued as a practical goal in this research.

One of the sub-goals of this research is to prioritize the personality traits of managers that affect the entrepreneurial traits of managers.

    6-1- Research innovation

Management research literature in the field of entrepreneurship has so far been in this category that; "Entrepreneurship can be influenced by personality traits" is incomplete. This research paves the way for many many researches. The importance of the issue is that the present research was conducted in Iran and naturally, like many other researches, the generalization of the results was not influenced by the cultural variables of other societies, and its generalization is easier and more scientific in this society. The data of this research is also quantitative. 2-7-1- Data collection method In this research, library studies were used to prepare subject literature and indexes and questionnaires, and questionnaires were used to prepare field data. Considering that the current research is descriptive and standard models were used to measure independent and dependent variables, the researcher collected data using scientific questionnaires designed for this purpose.
