    Abstract

Today, in addition to research and education, universities play a role in the direction of the new mission of participation in the economic development of society. In the current research, we have tried to explain the process of commercialization and the results of university research by providing a framework, and we examine the effective factors in the commercialization of the findings of the management field at the level of the universities of Qom province and prioritize them according to their importance. The current research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in nature. The results obtained from this research are based on a 32-question questionnaire, the reliability of which was calculated by Cronbach's alpha method as 0.813, and the validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by the respected professors. The present research consists of eight sub-hypotheses in the form of two general sections of internal and external factors, which according to the data analysis and examination of the results of the research hypotheses, it was determined that there are reasons for rejecting The independent variables proposed in the hypotheses were not found as effective components in the commercialization of management field findings. Keywords: knowledge commercialization, technology transfer, technology transfer offices, knowledge commercialization mechanisms. Introduction What is the role of universities? Are today's universities different from what they were in the past or not? What is the society's view of universities and what do they expect from them? Universities are definitely the most complex institutions that guarantee the future of nations and are considered as a model for other institutions and have become social elements respected by the private and public sectors in most countries of the world (Ayoubi and his colleagues, 2:1380). Considering the key role of these institutions, always in every age According to the political, economic and technological conditions. In the world, they undertake new goals and missions.

A look at the history of universities and the evolution of higher education systems shows that universities and the higher education system, like other parts of society, have undergone changes in their roles and functions along with the process of changes in human societies and have been trying to adapt themselves to the requirements of new roles. Resource limitations, political influences and competitive pressures affect these changes (Nagy & Robb, 2007:1). Among these developments, we can mention the addition of the role of research to the traditional tasks of universities in the late 19th century, first in German universities and then in other universities around the world. In this regard, Etzkowitz states: "In the beginning, universities were only responsible for the training of human resources, and with the change of the situation and the needs of societies, the role of research was added to it at the end of the 19th century. This phenomenon is referred to as the "first revolution" of universities, during which research, in addition to the traditional task of education, was added to the functions of the university" (Etzkowitz, 2003:110).

The reduction of public research budgets following the end of the Cold War (Baldini et al, 2007:519), was another development that left a deep impact on the role and function of universities. Universities can no longer rely on government budgets and do research without considering the economic benefit and return on investment. This caused modern universities to turn to commercial and business activities in order to reach the private sectors to obtain more funds (Mok, 2005:540). Examining the role and function of the university in the economic development of different societies shows the emergence of tremendous changes that brought the world to a new phase of development called the knowledge-based economy. Etzkowitz[1] showed that based on internal dynamics and environmental requirements, the university system faced two revolutions: the first revolution happened in Germany at the end of the 19th century, during which, in addition to educational activities, universities were also active in the field of research and produced knowledge. The second revolution happened at the end of the 20th century based on the emergence of innovations based on science, which made the university responsible for the third mission (economic development). In this process, universities underwent changes in their structure and function, including entrepreneurship education, group research, development of technological innovation, integration of scientific research groups with industrial companies, and closer relations with industry. On the other hand, in order to maintain their long-term survival and success, economic enterprises need to acquire new technology so that they can achieve more income while maintaining a competitive advantage. This is due to the change in the attitude towards the production of knowledge. In the era of knowledge-based economy [2], knowledge is of special importance as the driving engine of the economy, the factor of improving productivity and solving economic, social, political, cultural and biological issues. In the knowledge-based economy, the system of research and production of science as the basic reservoir and center of knowledge are the potential sources of ideas that these ideas should be transformed into products needed by society and the market. In this view, the increase in national innovation cannot be achieved only by increasing the amount of research and research projects, and connecting the achievements of the research system to the market system is one of the examples and requirements of innovation. Competition in the technology-oriented market of today's world requires the integration of new knowledge with industry. An industry that does not benefit from modern knowledge is condemned to decline, and knowledge without application in industry is considered worthless, like an inactive world that is likened to a bee without honey, and this issue reveals the importance of the link between university and industry [3]. Undoubtedly, what constitutes the main focus of national development policies today is the principled, logical and purposeful links between university and industry (Mahmoudi, 2018: 9).

The key to today's world is creating value; The solution to enter today's business world is technology, and the key to technology is commercialization and added value. In other words, the commercialization of research ideas is the link between technology and the market, and its focus is on the links at the end of the value chain (Mosaei, Sadraei, Bandarian, 2017: 8). Commercialization of knowledge and technology resulting from research and development is one of the main functions of an entrepreneurial university. Commercialization is a process by which the idea, invention, knowledge and technology resulting from research leads to the production of new goods and services that can be offered in the market or the improvement of current products and processes, and as a result, the potential of knowledge and technology and scientific innovations are fully realized. Landry [4] et al. (2006) have introduced the commercialization of knowledge, along with the dissemination of knowledge through scientific conferences and publications and the training of skilled labor, as one of the three major mechanisms of the university to transfer knowledge, which can be done in the form of consulting activities, research contracts with industry, registration and the formation of branch companies.

Contributing researchers to the achievements resulting from the commercialization of their research is one of the effective factors in Development is a matter of research in developed countries. Every year, more than 1000 billion dollars are spent on research and development in the world, which is about 2% of the world's gross domestic product, and in some developed countries, this figure reaches 4% of their GDP [5]. The increase in the volume of world trade in the last two decades and reaching the border of 31 trillion dollars is mainly due to the commercialization of research achievements. Researchers continuously try to invent and bring to market new products that do not exist before or have novel features. In universities and research institutions, research has no meaning without commercialization of an achievement. Because without reaching the specific customers of an achievement, it will be useless to produce or test an idea.

Marketing[6] and the commercialization process constitute the final stage of the innovation process. These two elements are necessary for the success of any invention. In recent years, from the point of view of the global economy, the traditional role of knowledge in research institutes and universities as a producer and provider of science, knowledge and new ideas has been revised. On the other hand, with the decrease in government financial support for research, researchers have gradually turned towards industry support and commercialization of their ideas. The lack of sufficient support from the government has gradually pushed the nature of research from being independent and based on theoretical concepts to efforts aligned with commercialization. In the literature of marketing and market research, there have been many studies on how to commercialize products.
