in married women of Gachsaran city

    Abstract

This research was conducted in order to investigate the relationship between sexual components and communication skills with marital satisfaction in married women. took The current research is based on the type of community solidarity, all women (married women) of Shahreghachsaran and the target sample number of 200 people were randomly selected from those who visited counseling centers and were willing to cooperate. The tools used in this research include: Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire, Communication Skills Scale, Multifaceted Sexual Issues Questionnaire which was administered to the subjects and the obtained data was analyzed with the help of SPSS software version 19 and descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (such as Pearson correlation coefficient, simple regression analysis, simultaneous multiple regression). The results of this research showed that there is a significant positive relationship between communication skills and marital satisfaction. There is no significant relationship between sexual components and marital satisfaction. Sexual issues and communication skills are predictors of marital satisfaction. Among the dimensions of communication skills, only the communication skills of speaking and the communication skills of interpreting and clarifying the audience's speech were significant predictors for the overall score of marital satisfaction. As a result, the health of the society is dependent on the health and dynamics of the family system, and the health, balance, and excellence of the family system also depends on the quality of relationships between husband and wife, and marital satisfaction. Keywords: communication skills, sexual components, marital satisfaction. Undoubtedly, there is no emotional and social abnormality that is free from the influence of the family (Danesh, 2014). If a society does not have healthy and balanced families, it cannot claim health. Families in which husband and wife understand each other and feel satisfied with life function better and fulfill their role better. Marital satisfaction is one of the means of progress and achieving life goals (Bakhshi et al.; 2016). Marital satisfaction is the existence of a friendly relationship with a sense of mutual understanding and understanding, the existence of a logical balance between the material and spiritual needs of the couple. Marital satisfaction in the family is the most important pillar of the mental health of family members. (Kajbaf; 2013).

Marital satisfaction indicates the strength and efficiency of the family system. A healthy family and society is formed from conscious bonds and healthy and thriving communication between couples. If the foundation of the family does not have the necessary strength, it will have negative consequences not only for the family but for the whole society. (Ebrahimi; 1387).

Marital satisfaction is a quality that is affected by several factors including: psychological-personality, socio-economic and cultural factors. Among these factors, marital interaction is sometimes affected by factors such as sexual issues and relationships, and causes a person to feel an increasing need to rely on his wife to deal with his issues (Danforth, 2004).

Sexual relationship is linked with continuous satisfaction from the relationship (Halford, 2004). Satisfied spouses report greater congruence between the sexual activity they desire and the sexual activity they experience. For both men and women, sexual satisfaction is significantly related to the level of family functioning (Greif and Malherb [1], 2001). The research of Rosen-Granden et al. [2] (2004) indicated that sexual satisfaction is a very important component in faithful relationships. However, initial satisfaction with sex is a strong predictor of satisfaction and continuation of the relationship in later times. According to Spence4 (1997, cited by Halford, 2014), low and unpleasant sex is the source of conflicts in problematic couples, and on the other hand, according to Masters and Johnson1 (1970), sexual problems are often due to poor communication in married life, and therefore part of their treatment for sexual problems is to help couples improve their overall relationship with the other party. Karr (2000) believes that sexual harmony and not the frequency of sexual activity with Marital satisfaction is related (Masters and Johnson, 1970, quoted by Halford, 2014).

In the field of sexual relations, it can be said that although a happy married life is only related to sex, this relationship may be one of the most important causes of happiness or unhappiness in married life. Because if this relationship is not convincing, it will lead to a feeling of deprivation, failure and lack of safety (endangerment of mental health) and as a result the disintegration of the family (Shamlo, 2010).

Common life is affected by many factors, some of which may lead the couple to conflict and conflict, psychological separation and even divorce. Various researches have shown that one of the most important factors that cause problems is a disruption in communication or in other words, a disruption in the process of understanding and communication. (Heydari, Mazaheri, Pourtemad, 2014).

Communication covers the whole human life. Man survives, grows and evolves with the help of communication, and his prosperity and happiness depends to a large extent on how he relates to others. In the meantime, marital relationship as the longest and deepest type of relationship has always been of interest because a satisfactory marriage is very useful for the physical and mental health of spouses (Siavoshi and Navabinejad, 2014). Communication allows husband and wife to discuss and solve their problems with each other. Couples who cannot communicate with each other are in an uncertain situation (Yang Wellang, 1998).

    1-2- Statement of the problem

Marital satisfaction is the subjective evaluation and feeling of a person about his marital relationship (Barazandeh, 2014). Marital satisfaction is a broad and multidimensional concept that is influenced by various factors. This concept has occupied a large part of the researches published in the field of marriage (Kadir et al., [3] 2005).

In this context, paying attention to the family center as the most basic social element seems to be necessary. A healthy family is a family in which people develop healthy and the communication between people has a normal routine, that is, family members have harmonious relationships with each other and behave with each other in a gentle and smooth tone. Various factors affect the durability of this type of family. Among them is satisfaction between couples. Marital satisfaction is one of the most important factors affecting the functioning of the family. Marital satisfaction is the objective feelings of satisfaction, satisfaction and pleasure experienced by the wife or husband in all aspects of their marriage. It is important to examine the effective factors in marital satisfaction because a person's satisfaction with married life is considered an important part of individual health. In fact, the relationship with the spouse is the central aspect of a person's emotional and social life, and marital dissatisfaction can damage the ability of the husband and wife to establish satisfactory relationships with their children and other people outside the family (Hamoule, Rozi Talab, 2018).

In today's world of information and communication, where the advancement of technology brings people from different societies and cultures closer and closer to each other, human desires have become more and more ecstatic and prosperity, freedom, peace, and pleasure and variety have become more important, therefore sexual relationship has gained a more important place and not only in meeting the physiological needs of humans such as thirst, hunger and the need for air and sleep, but it is also considered in the area of ??spiritual needs such as the need for beauty and perfection, but the ambiguities, superstitions and ignorance surrounding it have not yet disappeared (Ohadi, 2015).

Sexual instinct is one of the innate needs of humans. So that Kerlow [4] (1967) has placed this need in the category of physical needs or basic vital needs. In terms of sex, it can be said that although a happy married life is only partially related to sex, this relationship may be one of the most important causes of happiness or unhappiness in married life. Because if this relationship is not convincing, it will lead to a feeling of deprivation, failure and lack of safety (endangerment of mental health) and as a result the disintegration of the family (Siyadpour, 2004). The role of a person's awareness and knowledge about sexual issues is very important and can affect all communication and interactions in the life of couples. The position of knowledge as a mediating variable in the interaction of people with each other has a very prominent role.
