    Abstract

The area studied in this research is certain parts of the mountainous areas of Lahijan and Masal cities in Gilan province, which are known as the green roof. The green roof of Lahijan, which has attracted the attention of many tourists in recent years, is located in the middle of Lahijan, 40 kilometers from Rasht. This green roof is built on the peak of Shaitan Mountain at a height of 60 meters. It seems that this beautiful tourist place can be placed as a model - although not perfect - for the green roof of Masal. Bam Sabz or Rize Mendan forest park with an area of ??approximately 300 hectares, located in the heights of Masal city and 55 km from the center of Gilan province, with beautiful and original scenery, can be considered one of the most unique tourist areas of the city and even the province in the near future, because in addition to the plains of Masal city, parts of Soumesara city and Bandar Anzali can also be seen from these heights.  The famous tourist heights in Gilan, which are located in the two cities of Masal and Lahijan, and each of them alone attract tourists and are one of the tourist spots of the mentioned cities, along with other natural and artificial attractions, these areas have a very high capacity to attract tourists, and since they are located in urban areas, they can increase the number of urban tourists. In this thesis, an attempt has been made to introduce and examine the ecological conditions of the two regions based on environmental conditions, and then to compare the performance of green roofs in Lahijan and Masal based on human and environmental conditions in the development of tourism in these areas, and to identify the functional differences of these two green roofs.

Key words: urban tourism, green, Lahijan, Masal

    Introduction

Urban tourism as one of Today, the most popular types of tourism play an important role in the socio-economic status of cities. The presence of natural and man-made attractions in cities can help to attract more tourists.

The proximity of natural attractions to urban centers can attract two types of tourists to these areas, i.e., in addition to urban tourists, they can also send nature-oriented tourists to such centers. access to internet networks, satellite networks, mobile phones, etc. Based on the ecological, climatic and environmental form that has also taken into account the unique feature, as urban attractions in the vicinity of mountains, waterfalls, lakes and rivers and other natural attractions, it can be a very attractive place for tourists and by providing these services to tourists and local people, it will bring economic, social and cultural prosperity to the region. Of course, one thing that should not be forgotten is that damage to nature due to excessive or incorrect use should be avoided with proper and accurate planning.

    Statement of the problem

Today, tourism development is one of the basic axes of every city for economic, social and cultural development. In every land and every culture, there are unique effects and elements that are new for the people of other lands and cultures, and this becomes an excuse for the realization of tourism activity. These elements, which we know as tourist attractions, are placed in several general categories of natural, cultural-historical, technological and commercial attractions (Seyd Mehdi Elwani, Masoume Pirouzbakht, tourism management process). In addition to this, cities have always been able to stand out as tourist destinations in terms of their functions and roles and suitable service conditions and attract them to them.

The vast land of Iran with its colorful and exceptional nature as well as the ancient culture and civilization that has its roots in the ancient history of this border and region is one of the top ten countries in the world in terms of tourist attractions (Katayoun Fahimi, 2017, Master's thesis). One of the sectors in the tourism industry that has attracted the attention of tourists and tourists is ecotourism, which can attract a significant number of tourists in addition to urban attractions.

According to the announcement of UNESCO, Iran is in terms of environmental diversity and types of natural attractions.

According to the announcement of UNESCO, Iran ranks fifth in the world in terms of environmental diversity and types of natural attractions (Katayoun Fahimi, 2017, master's thesis). In our country, there are relatively many places with good weather. One of the regions prone to tourism in the country is the mountainous regions. In Gilan province, along with the mild climate, the existence of two mountain ranges, Talash and Alborz, have been able to contribute to the further development of tourism.

In the upcoming study, the comparison and matching of two green roofs in Gilan province (green roof of Lahijan and green roof of Masal) were done as places for recreation and spending leisure time and attracting tourists. Is the role of these two green roofs the same in attracting tourists, and if the answer is negative, what factors have played an essential role in the difference between these two places in the development of tourism in the city and the amount of tourist attraction? The importance and necessity of research

Today, cities are considered one of the most important tourism hubs due to the attractions they have for people. Paying attention to the existing infrastructure as well as the creation and construction of interesting centers based on environmental conditions as well as structures in accordance with scientific, traditional and advanced thinking. In cities, it can help the development of urban tourism.

In the city of Lahijan and in the heart of this city, the presence of Satan Mountain, which is a part of the Alborz mountain range, has caused countless tourists to turn to this place to use this natural attraction along with other urban attractions.

Such conditions exist in the city of Masal. This city, which is located at the foot of Talash mountain range, has very good natural attractions and has a good climate. In recent years, an attempt has been made to create such a center in the mountainous part of Masal city by following the example of the green roof of Lahijan, but unfortunately, due to the lack of sufficient studies and the lack of suitable infrastructure, this project has not been able to meet the minimum expectations.

It should be mentioned that both cities located at the base of the Alborz mountain range have differences in terms of climatic and human factors and elements, which we seek to discover and specify the differences that affect the attraction of tourism and the development of tourism.

Also, in this research, an attempt has been made to provide suggestions on the expansion and development of tourism in mountainous areas, especially the green roofs of these two cities, by comprehensively examining the tourism potential of Lahijan and Masal region.
