Academic Thesis for Master's degree in General Psychology

    Abstract:

This research was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between religious attitude and psychological well-being and job burnout among male secondary school teachers in Shahrekord city. The research method was of the correlation type and the statistical population was all male secondary school teachers in the city of Shahrekord in the academic year of 1992-1993. The number of teachers was 1,740, of which 95 were selected by random sampling. The tools used to measure Golriz's religious attitude questionnaire and RIF's psychological well-being questionnaire were the Moslesh job burnout questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression analysis. The results of the data showed that there is a significant relationship between religious attitude and psychological well-being and job burnout in teachers, so that an increase in religious attitude increases psychological well-being and reduces job burnout in teachers. Also, the results of regression analysis showed that religious attitude is a suitable predictor for psychological well-being and job burnout in teachers.

    Introduction:

Today, education has a significant contribution. It allocates from the budget of each country. Considering the importance and role of education and training, especially in the economic, political, social and cultural aspects of society, it is necessary to carry out basic activities to improve the quality of education and the health of human resources in order to prevent the wastage of human and material capital. If education centers use appropriate and useful strategies to increase the psychological well-being and reduce job stress and job burnout of their personnel, and if the teachers deal with the serious matter of education and training of the children of this region in a calm and stress-free atmosphere, then the mental and physical health of the personnel working in education and ultimately organizational efficiency and effectiveness can also be achieved. Belief in religion is a blessing for a person. which arms him with a philosophy of life, enlightens his mind, emphasizes the will, and nurtures it, helps a person obey the commands of reason, fulfills the basic needs of the soul, especially the need for love and immortality, and religion acts as a protector against psychological pressures. caused by work issues and the teaching environment, will have a negative impact on their psychological and physical well-being, and a strong religious attitude can act as a suitable buffer against these pressures (Bahugra [1], 2010). Having a goal and determining it in life is considered one of the most important religious, managerial, philosophical and psychological issues. Based on research carried out by researchers, the World Health Organization officially announced that religious potentials and abilities should be used in order to improve people's mental health (Ghadiri and Jan Gergi, 2009).

There have been many discussions about the influence and importance of religious beliefs on mental health and physical health from the past until now, and in recent years psychologists have paid special attention to the role of religion in providing mental health and treating mental illnesses. They believe that faith in God and religious attitude has an extraordinary power that gives a kind of spiritual strength to a person and helps him endure the hardships of life and removes the worry and anxiety that many people of our time suffer from (Javadi Amoli, 1380).

In education and especially in schools, the human element has a special place and among the people present in the school, it can be said that teachers are the most important Because of the sensitive role they play, teachers are under pressure from managers, parents, students, socio-political institutions, and official and unofficial groups in the school. In addition, they are facing many other problems inside and outside the school. This ever-increasing expectation has put them under constant pressure. If this pressure is too much, it endangers the health and personal comfort of the teachers and makes them feel stressed, and as a result of the pressures on them, after a while, the initial strength and energy of this important force decreases and causes them to become exhausted (Bahmani, 2017). It can be effective in his mental health and psychological well-being. Psychological well-being has scales that all have three general characteristics: first, they are internal; that is, they are placed within the individual's experience, secondly, psychological well-being includes positive measurements, in this sense it is different from measurements such as mental health, which is defined by the absence of negative components. Thirdly, measurements of psychological well-being usually include a general assessment of all aspects of a person's life, although creation or satisfaction can be measured within a specific area, the emphasis is usually on an integrated judgment of a person's life. Psychological well-being is defined as the growth of the real talents of each person, and increasing the capacity of positive states and reducing negative states is defined as optimal well-being, and improving the level of psychological well-being is considered one of the goals of psychology in this century. (Campbell [2], 1981/cited by Sahraian, 2013)

Burnout in teachers is caused by the negative aspects of the teacher's job, such as the indiscipline of students and their lack of interest in education, overcrowded classes, the forced transfer of teachers, insufficient salaries, and the absence of managers and supportive parents. Absenteeism appears. Teachers who suffer from job burnout are emotionally tired, have little motivation to work, are depressed, and have little energy, passion, and excitement to do things. Burnout affects not only the professional life of teachers, but also their personal and social life. Burnt-out teachers behave negatively towards others, lose their self-confidence and decide to leave their jobs due to feelings of inadequacy and reduced ability to do things (Spector[3], 2004).

Research that began in the 1970s in the field of teacher stress and burnout indicates that the number of teachers who leave their jobs is increasing. One of the important reasons for leaving a job in this group is job burnout, and this is a great loss for material investments and wasting academic talents. The first damage of job burnout is suffering from body burnout. People who suffer from it generally have low energy and feel excessively tired, and they frequently report some symptoms of physical stress such as headache, nausea, lack of sleep, and changes in eating habits. Among its other effects is emotional exhaustion, whose symptoms include depression, feelings of helplessness, feelings of ineffectiveness in one's job, the presence of negative attitudes toward oneself, the job, the organization, and life in general, and finally, most sufferers report a feeling of low progress and advancement. (Desi [4], 2006).

    1-2- Statement of the problem:

Identifying the resources available in any research field, which is interpreted as background or history, is considered a basic step in conducting any research. Being aware of other people's intellectual concerns, knowing the types of approaches available to the discussion, avoiding parallel and repetitive work, obtaining the necessary resources and texts, and so on. It is one of the fruits that this importance gives. In the field of religious education, it is necessary to mention this point, although religious education has been talked about in recent years and has taken pages of magazines, books, and even conferences have been held in this field, but religious education and its related concepts are a virgin and unexplored field. Although there are a number of articles and research projects in this field, there is no complete and independent research related to the research topic, if any studies have been done, it is rare.
