    Persian abstract:

Change means leaving one state and arriving and settling in another state. Today's organizations are facing wider changes than in the past in various aspects of their activities. University libraries, which play a prominent role in the quality of education and research in universities, need solutions to manage their changes. The present research deals with determining the attitude of employees towards change (readiness for change) in the central library services of Tarbiat Modares University. This research is practical in terms of purpose and survey method. The statistical population is all employees of the Central Library of Tarbiat Modares University. A questionnaire (Dunham et al. 1989) was used to collect the desired information. The content validity of the questionnaire was examined with the opinions of the supervisors and advisors, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to determine its reliability, which for the present questionnaire was 86. has been obtained. The analysis of the research data at the level of descriptive statistics of indicators such as the frequency, average and standard deviation of scores and at the inferential level of the one-way analysis of variance test and in order to determine the normality of the data has been done by the Kalmogorov-Smirnov test;  For data analysis, SPSS software package was used as a data analysis tool. The results of this research showed that the staff of the Central Library of Tarbiat Modares University have generally understood the occurrence of change and its purpose in benefiting the library and its members. Introduction Change means leaving one state and arriving and settling in another state. In organizational issues, change is the transformation of an organization from the existing situation in at least one of the areas of organizational structure, technology, human resources, tasks and production and service functions and reaching the desired situation. Change is usually divided into four types of changes in structure, technology, place and people. In order to make changes in the structure, it is necessary to make changes in organizational relations or coordination methods, to re-plan jobs and tasks or to make changes in terms of structure. In changing technology, the way things are done and the way tools and machines are used changes. The change in the place is to change the way the system and devices are installed, and ultimately, the purpose of the change in people is to create changes in attitudes, skills, expectations, thoughts and perceptions. Many researchers have assumed that most efforts related to change have failed due to the lack of an effective unfreezing process, and for this reason, they began to consider the need to prepare for change by considering the concept of individual perception of change. Change in the organization cannot take place without the support and cooperation of the people of the organization, and individual change does not take place unless the individual is ready for it (Lagzian and Malekzadeh, 2010). Change management is one of the branches of management. Today, change management has various definitions. Perhaps the most common and clearest definition is the following: Change management is the process, tools and techniques that are used in order to manage human resources in a changing business, to achieve the desired results, and also for the business to be carried out effectively according to the social infrastructure of the work environment (Anderson[1], 2001). In another place, this issue is defined as follows: change management is a continuous and dynamic process of preparing for change, planning change, implementing the change plan, and storing and maintaining change (stabilization and sustainability of change) (Gholami, 2012). These changes require a planned approach to exploit the changes for the benefit of the organization, libraries and information centers and especially university libraries that play a prominent role in the quality of education and research in universities need solutions to manage their changes (Nakhoda, 1389).

    1-2 Statement of the Problem

Mark[2] (1997) and Pugh[3] (2007) stated: Today, the occurrence of changes caused by internal and external stimuli is a problem that libraries are also facing. Hirshon[4] (1999) pointed out the importance of change management in academic libraries and considers it one of the most important issues facing academic libraries in the world today. The origin of changes in academic libraries can be different. Sometimes these changes are caused by internal stimuli (such as organizational structure changes, changes in budgets and facilities, and changes in positions and responsibilities) and sometimes by external stimuli (such as the growth of technologies and changing user expectations). According to Fry[5] (1997), as university faculty members and students move toward having diverse interests, fields, and skills, they also bring a wide and ever-increasing range of information needs to the library. Naturally, these diverse information needs can be considered as a factor for changes in the various work processes of the library. Iran's academic libraries are facing problems and pressures from their surroundings, which make them inevitable to respond and make changes in order to maintain their existence and survival. For example, in addition to the increase in costs and the development of information technologies, the increase in the number of students and researchers every year cannot be ignored. According to the country's statistical yearbook, (1387), statistics show that in 1386-87, the total number of students in the country increased by 20% compared to the previous academic year. This increase is a factor that can lead to changes such as expanding the range of services and library spaces and diversifying the topics and formats of library materials. Considering the important role of university libraries in education and research, dynamics and change in these libraries is considered an important category. Iran's university libraries are not exempt from the need for change in order to respond to the external and internal factors of their organization (Nakhoda, 2009). Considering that the needs of library users are rapidly changing due to the rapid growth of science, libraries seem to have to align their services with these changes and to align these changes with library services, the central library of Tarbiat Modares University is one of the most important library centers in the country of Iran, and since its user community is mostly graduate students in master's and doctorate levels, and its users are not only unique It is not only for Tarbiat Modares University but also provides services to all people across the country and this library is open to a wide user community with different information needs due to its subscription to domestic and foreign journals and databases. According to the researcher's observations and the current state of the said library, it seems that there is a possibility of providing better quality services and more user satisfaction, which can be achieved by making changes. According to the researcher's study about the change of attitude with the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral structures of Tarbiat Modares University Central Library employees towards the change of services, which has not been done so far. Therefore, the current research, with regard to change management techniques, preparation for change, and using the view of Dunham et al. dir="RTL">1- 3 Importance and necessity of research

Change is an integral part of every organization, libraries are not exempt from this rule. In order to be able to respond to the needs of their users, these centers need to change and prepare for these changes due to the growth of science and technology and the subsequent changes in the needs and behaviors of users.
