    Abstract:

The military university is based on internal and institutional norms that have a universal nature and cause the university life and consequently the life of university members to be normative or The opinion of experts in the field of professional ethics is to examine the relationship between social capital and professional ethics among the faculty members of the Islamic Azad University It is a survey. The research population consists of 846 members of the Islamic Azad University. The sample size was calculated using the Morgan's table of 265 people. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed high validity coefficients for each of the indicators of the constructs of social capital and professional ethics. In order to check the hypotheses due to the non-normality of the variables, Spearman's correlation coefficient was used using SPSS 18 software and statistically significant relationships were obtained for all statistical hypotheses. Generalities of the research. internalizing academic-professional norms and values ??and developing the concept of "social exchange" It fulfills (Barbour, 1362). The university has a specific internal normative system. These universal internal norms cause the university life and, accordingly, the life of university members, to have a normative characteristic or, according to experts in the field of higher education, to have the components of professional ethics (Noorshahi, 2012). The development and promotion of the three functions of the university are closely linked with the professional ethics of the university members. Today, professional ethics and its related topics such as scientific responsibility, belief in self-efficacy, sense of belonging to the scientific community, and belief in social responsibility have become an undeniable necessity in the professional activity of academic faculty members. Academic professional ethics refers to a set of moral and value guidelines that target the organizational behaviors of academic members in education, research and rational action in the university field and enable coordination in moving towards the desired way of academic activity and enable the possibility of dynamic cognitive evolution in the scientific community (Qanaei Rad, 2015). The importance of social relations, the nature and context of the formation of social exchanges and the correct understanding of the ethics of the field of science and thought have drawn the attention of higher education leaders and policymakers to understand the factors influencing it. Social capital is considered a suitable platform for the productivity of human and physical capital and a way to achieve organizational success of the university. The nature of the university system, and its delicate and vital role in the production and dissemination of science, is such that it relies more on the networks of collective and group relations, the cohesion between academic professions than physical and human capital. The vital importance of pure scientific productions and the publication of scientific ideas and human subjects is inextricably linked with the ethical bonds of science activists. Putnam considers the elements of social capital as undeniable factors in the effectiveness of scientific activities and especially its embellishment with professional ethics (Andishmand, 2008). He takes the initiative. In this research, the researcher intends to study the influence of the two variables of social capital and professional ethics among academics. Therefore, in this chapter, the statement of the research problem, the necessity of the research, the goals, the theoretical framework, hypotheses, the definitions of the variables and the scope of the research will be discussed.

    1-2) Statement of the problem

The university is the most important place of science production and its two basic functions, namely science production and education, are the responsibility of the university faculty members. The bases and foundations of academic functions are matured and strengthened in the process of academic socialization. According to this, academic socialization is the most important process in an academic system, and the institutionalization of the norms, values ??and ethics of the academic profession is the most important element of this process, which keeps the ancient tradition of the philosophy of scientific knowledge alive in the body of the university institution. In the academic field, this process of socialization can be justified and explained with the theory of professionalism (Qanei Rad, 2015).

The theory of professionalization[1] and professionalism as a subset of social theory[2] state the necessity of communication between individuals and institutions. In the university environment, professionalization means the ability to solve professional problems. University is through deep knowledge and experiences. On the other hand, academic professionalism, while paying attention to the need for technical skills, social skills and emphasizing moral values ??and points on the part of faculty members, refers to a process that, on the one hand, through the establishment of effective communication between the scientific community, consolidates the work ethics related to that profession among the members, and on the other hand, by emphasizing the expected positive performance, it promotes the social status of that profession in society (2004). , Dean & Beggs).

Becoming a professional in its general sense requires having deep knowledge, insight, commitment, responsibility and accountability, especially in social interactions, and relies on emotional intelligence [4] rather than emphasis on intelligence; Because professionals must have high skills in communicating with others and influencing them. It is clear that learning these features is not easy and requires education, especially continuous learning. In this regard, Block and Hamton (2011) refer to four dimensions of professionalism including: ethics in criticism; They refer to ethics in judgment, ethics in providing social service and ethics in profession (Hampton & Black, 2011).

The most important known dimension of professionalism in university faculty members is professional ethics Professional ethics in the university is a set of principles and standards of conduct that determine the behavior of the members of this institution. In fact, academic professional ethics is a rational thinking process whose purpose is to realize scientific values ??in the scientific community and how to preserve and spread it. Hayud and Wigal [5] (2009) write: professional ethics in the university leads to ethical reasoning and ethical decision-making by academic professionals. Undoubtedly, the tendency of organizations and institutions, including production-commercial institutions, to communicate with scientific environments is due to this academic advantage. In fact, the ultimate goal of organizations to communicate with the university, while  Learning is gaining social prestige for that institution and creating a kind of reputation that is achieved by relying on the academic profession (Haywood & Wygal, 2009).
