    Abstract

This research was carried out in order to investigate the effect of spiritual intelligence on the quality of nursing care in Bandar Abbas educational hospitals. The nurses working in these hospitals formed the statistical population of this research.

From this statistical population, 215 nurses were selected as a statistical sample using the stratified random method and through the Cochran formula, and they were tested using the King's Spiritual Intelligence Standard Questionnaire and the QUALPAC Nursing Care Quality Questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using PLS and SPSS software. The results of this research showed that the effect of the four components of spiritual intelligence (existential critical thinking, development of a state of consciousness, creation of personal meaning, transcendental awareness) on the quality of nursing care is not significant, and finally there is a weak correlation between spiritual intelligence and the quality of nursing care.

    1-1- Introduction

The quality of providing services and products has always been the concern of people. Perhaps the development of innovation and industry is also based on the principle that man is never satisfied with his current situation and has always tried to improve it. The importance of quality in the industry sector was noticed in the 1940s-1950s and it was raised in medical sciences since 1980 (Rajabipour Mibdi et al., 2008). 1389) and nurses make up more than 70% of the health care team (Hekari et al., 2019). In care, as an important part of nursing, it is accepted by most nurses and nursing researchers and is synonymous with nursing actions. This concept is a clear example of feelings, thoughts and actions that provide physical and mental comfort (Baljani et al., 2013).

In addition to the mentioned cases, recently many studies have been conducted on the effect of spirituality in organizations and improving people's performance

which has introduced it as a powerful force for adaptation and better adaptation of people in the face of problems. Entering spirituality into professions and jobs is a new phenomenon that can have a positive effect on improving the performance and competence of individuals and promoting organizations. Spiritual intelligence is also a new tool, which means a set of capabilities of a person in relation to spiritual resources, which includes an effective type of adaptation and problem-solving behavior, and the highest levels of growth in various cognitive, moral, emotional, interpersonal, and other fields. It includes and helps a person to coordinate with the phenomena around him and achieve internal and external integration. Various cognitive, moral, emotional, interpersonal and other areas. It includes and helps a person to coordinate with the phenomena around him and achieve internal and external integration  This intelligence gives a person a general view of life and all experiences and events and enables him to use spiritual capacities and resources to make important decisions and solve daily problems (Kirimi Munqi et al., 2013).

The present study aims, in addition to measuring the level of spiritual intelligence and the quality of nursing care among the nurses of the teaching hospitals of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, to investigate the effect of spiritual intelligence on the quality of nursing care in the mentioned hospitals.

    1-2- Statement of the problem

Intelligence, including spiritual intelligence, represents a set of different skills and abilities, each of which appears in different forms in social and historical contexts. Walters and Gardner [1] believe that intelligence is a set of abilities that enable a person to solve his problems and place these solutions in a specific culture (chapter Al-Hawaeji et al., 2019). Spirituality, as one of the dimensions of humanity, includes awareness and self-knowledge. Bilota believes that spirituality is the need to go beyond oneself in everyday life and integrate with someone other than ourselves, this awareness may lead to an experience that is beyond ourselves (Ghabari et al., 2010).Spiritual intelligence is a combination of the elements of intelligence and spirituality (Bab al-Hawaeji et al., 2018). Young states in a definition, "Spiritual intelligence is the human capacity to search and ask ultimate questions about the meaning of life and at the same time experience the integral connection between each of us and the world in which we live." With spiritual intelligence, we solve problems according to the meaning and value of those problems. The intelligence by which we are able to give meaning and meaning to our works and activities and by using it to become aware of the meaning of our actions and find out which of our actions are more valid and which path in our life is higher and more excellent in order to make it the model of our life" (Yang and Mao[2], 2007). Spiritual intelligence combines the structures of spirituality and intelligence into a new structure and is defined as the human capacity to ask ultimate questions about the meaning of life and simultaneous experiences and the integrated connection between us and the world we live in. It is one of the multiple intelligences and includes many methods and can integrate and harmonize the inner life and soul with the outer life and work in the world. (Bagheri et al., 2019). Spiritual intelligence is able to facilitate or increase awareness or the feeling of connection with a higher power or a holy being.   Wigglesworth [3] (2004), considers spiritual intelligence as the ability to behave with compassion and kindness and reason and wisdom by maintaining inner and outer peace regardless of the circumstances. (Sohrabi, 2007) Noble and Vegan [4] also considered eight components for spiritual intelligence, which shows the development of spiritual intelligence. These components include honesty and openness, integrity, humility, kindness, generosity, tolerance, resistance and persistence and the desire to meet the needs of others (Nobel, 2000). Also, according to King [5], the dimensions of spiritual intelligence are a set of mental abilities and capabilities, which include: a) existential critical thinking b) creation of personal meaning c) transcendent awareness d) development of consciousness (Sarihi et al., 2013). In fact, this intelligence is more related to asking than answering, which means that a person raises more questions about himself, life and the world around him (McMullen [6], 2003). The discussion of spiritual intelligence is of interest not only in individual fields but also in organizational fields, and in addition to psychological fields, it has entered other fields of human sciences, including management, and it can be safely said that perhaps the reason for the increasing research in the field of spirituality is the observation of its significant impact on the improvement of individual and organizational performance (Saghravani, 2019) and on the other hand, organizations that achieve a higher level of service quality will have a sustainable competitive advantage, and considering the undeniable impact of quality in the field of health and treatment services (Rajabi Pourmibdi et al., 1388) and the role of nurses, who are the largest group among health care workers and are responsible for the quality of care provided from a legal and ethical point of view (Bazargadi et al., 1386), the provision of appropriate quality care and services has been proposed as a priority in the health care service system, especially in the field of nursing services, so that in most countries, the grading and accreditation of hospitals is influenced by nursing care and its quality. (Nishaburi et al., 2018). Therefore, according to the foregoing and according to the few studies that have been conducted in this field, the researcher should answer this main question: Does spiritual intelligence have an effect on the quality of care provided by nurses in Bandar Abbas educational and therapeutic hospitals?

    1-3- The importance of research

Spirituality and, in line with that, spiritual intelligence can be effective in all areas of human life, and human work areas and social activities are not excluded from this. The implementation of spirituality in work environments and social organizations increases their efficiency and productivity, but unfortunately, this importance is often forgotten in today's technological societies. There is this fact about human beings and human relations that humans should be viewed as human beings, not as objects for the organization to achieve its goals (Bab Al-Hawaeji et al., 2010).
